Every body looking after each other

Aftershocks

Rescue dogs searching under buildings

Quivering people

Under rocks people trapped

The Ghostly Night

Tim was just about to fall asleep when a bang that could be heard from miles rocked our house Tim waited in bed startled thinking of all the possible scenario it could have been Earthquake, tsunami , flood? No none of those would  do that. Then a second bang this time Tim did not hesitate he leaped out of bed and RAN down the hall. Heaved open the door and there was Mum, Dad and the dog. " Tim what is the rush?"worried Mum
" You didn't hear it?"
" Of course we did that door opening nearly gave your poor dad a heart attack! Go back to your room NOW" As I walked back to my room curiously I saw a blue thick cloud heading strait for ME!!

" TIM WAKE UP RIGHT NOW YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL" Tim walked into the kitchen where mum was making was making breakfast. " Dr Beverly Nettle what in the earth are you doing"
" Excuse me Tim Nettle we have made a rule that you call me and your dad by 'Mum' and 'Dad' not Beverly and Nate.
" You are assuming that I am your son but I don't see that possible."
" Don't play tricks at this time of morning and for the last time YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR THE BUS!"
" Do not talk to me like I am a LITTLE BOY!"
" Well you are, our a you telling me that you are not a 9 year old b...o" But before Beverly could finish her sentence 'Tim' did a somersault in to the then landing on his feet before doing an almighty no handed cartwheel and landing in a bridge and with hesitate arising to his feet. Beverly was stunned at her sons abilities. " WOW I never knew what you had in you, why didn't you tell me?"
" Bvrqlatgrhbyresufhjfnjdvnfgufyouaw"
"Now stop playing tricks on me and it's time to go to school"  and with that Tim karate chopped the door open and ran to the bus.

RING, RING, RING went the phone, Beverly picked it up "Hello Mrs Nettle here"
" Hello Mrs Nettle well your son seems to be we..ll....um acting a little strange" says Mr Bottle shark, the principle
" Yes, in fact I was expecting your call he was acting very strange this morning"
" I'm and I am thinking that you should take him home today and give him a day of tomorrow. If he is still acting funny maybe take him to the doctors."
"Ok thanks for your help, I will come and pick him up right now, Bye"

"Tim I don't Know what was up with you today?"
"GRRRRRRRRRREEEAAAAAA"
"AAAAAAHHHHHHH Tim what are you doooooiiiiinnnnn....ggg;"
Utter silence
To be continued...

Dog training on Thursday

2015_0216_193505.JPGWhen I got to dog training, Ellen and Horse were all ready there and were practicing the jumps. I also noticed that we had a different teacher called Carol. Fern started getting really jumpy and barky around the other dogs. I thought she would calm down  after a bit but no she kept on barking. Fern did go well doing the course at the end but she did get a little stuck with the hoop. I think we need a lot more practice.

Dog Training

2015_0406_110551.JPG I now go to a different place for dog training to get some more help. I am with another girl called Ellen and her dog Horse. It's really fun and we get to learn new skills with our dog. It is a bit tough at times when all the other dogs arrive in the next  paddock but I am really looking forward to the next dog  training on Thursday.

African jungle

In the African jungle there are all sorts of creepy creatures that hide in every crack and crevice. The slithery snakes sprint across the greasy grass The lions roam the dirt dry land with the rhinos and elephants. In the dangers of the water, alligators and crocodiles swim. So when entering the African jungle be very careful.

No Ordinary Planet

I stepped into Spacecraft 941 as we departed from Earth. Oh sorry, how rude of me. My name is Robin Firefork. Me and my team are off into space to hopefully discover a new planet in our solar system. "4,3,2,1 BLAST OFF!" We soared into the air leaving behind a trail of white dust. I look out the window to see Earth. It really is a magnificent sight.

After two weeks we arrive at a new planet. As we land I see a strange looking object run across the surface. It looks like a chocolate donut with legs.  This is no ordinary planet.

The Shimmering Man

I’m swimming in a lake next to a nature reserve. I feel the warm bubbly water against my skin as I float peacefully on my back and take in my surroundings. Suddenly a huge wave crashes down on me lifting me into the air and filling my lungs with water. I cough and splutter and I thrash to keep afloat. I finally get my breath back. When I look up, I squint at a shimmering figure who says,  “Sorry mate. I am your genie”
“Ok then” I say sarcastically “I wish you were gone and I had 6 inch Subway”

Dog Training

23 July Thursday
Today me and Fern my dog are going to Rolleston at 8:30pm to do agility. Fern can do the Tunnel, Jumps, See-saw, Hoop, Weave poles and lots of other tricks so I am REALLY EXCITED!

It was really cool, though we couldn't train because Fern was more EXCITED then I was having all those dogs round and we didn't have the right sort of treats. We had a really nice teacher called Naomi let us borrow her treats and helped my along the way. Next Thursday if Fern still isn't concentrating then we will have to go to another training course.

30 Thursday
When we got there Naomi was training another class. Me and
Fern went into a corner and started doing some training " Sit and wait " then I walk away. Every time Fern did it right four or more times I would take a step forward to the other dogs. Soon we had made it to the bench were a dog was tied up. Just then Naomi came over and commented on how much Fern had improved. YAY WE ARE GETTING SOME WHERE !!!!!!!!!!

The Feast

 The Feast
Today my Nanny and Pops came over and I cooked them lunch. For the entree we had crackers with blue cheese and pear and for mains we had tacos with spicy mince, salad and guacamole.  I made boysenberry ambrosia with cream, yogurt, baby marshmallows and a sprinkle of chocolate for dessert.2015_0426_131536.JPG
Things that I think I could work on include putting out the ingredients before I start and practising chopping onions because they really sting your eyes!
I thought the lunch was really yummy and Nanny thought it was quite spicy.

Mystery Shack - 100 Word Challenge

The door  of the dusty overgrown house creaks open. Tim looks in. An old wrinkled face looks up from her rocking chair “What a nice day it is, look at the birds chirping” says the old lady. Tim turns around then he hears a noise that sounds like bones cluttering to the floor.
“What was that?” asked Tim
“Just the mice in the cellar.  Could you be a deary and go down to the cellar and get my medicine?” she asks
“Sure”
The last thing Tim hears as he nervously heads down the stairs is a sneaky cackle from above.

Penguin Team Work (100 word challenge)

A killer whale swam around the iceberg “Those penguins are not getting away today no they are not. Now I need to make a mischievous plan. I could lure them in with a fish ,yes I will do that.”  Little did he know that a little penguin was listening and he had heard every word. He quickly hurried back to tell the other penguins. “Haul the rope we need to get that whale before he gets us. It’s war of the Whales!” The Penguins and Whales were all busy working trying to build traps before the other team did!

Swimming Sports Day (100 word challenge)

Andy peered into his bag nervously.  Andy’s grandma had bought him some new togs.  He wasn’t keen on this idea because she was colour blind. It couldn’t be that bad he thought.  Inside the bag were disco-coloured togs with flashing dinosaurs. “I can’t wear this, I’ll be the laughing stock”  Andy groaned and looked over at the lost property box.  He had no choice. He desperately searched through the smelly piles of clothes and put on the only pair of togs - candyfloss pink kitten togs.
Finally on the starting platform. “WAIT!” A little girl runs up “Are these yours Andy?”

ANZAC Cove (100 word challenge)

BANG! The gun shots could be heard for miles. We tried to scramble onto shore, shrapnel  flying everywhere and I can feel my own breath against my hand. We run up the muddy steep bank. I can smell blood and sweat, a hot wind blowing in my face. I hide behind a bush and fire up at the Turks. There is utter silence then a massive BOOM! I can hear screams and in front of me I see a explosion - hot metal flies everywhere. Why did I come here. It’s not a big adventure. Am I going to die?
